At Greenleaf Behavioral Health Hospital, we are committed to providing our clients and those in our community with a wide variety of services to help adults and adolescents whose needs range from the structured environment of an inpatient crisis center to intensive outpatient services. Located on the same campus as our inpatient program, Greenleaf Counseling Center offers several outpatient options for adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17 and adults age 18 and older. Greenleaf Counseling Center is located in a separate building on our campus and proudly offers a group-oriented partial hospitalization program (PHP) and an intensive outpatient program (IOP). Both of these programs allow for structured therapy during the day while the client slowly reintegrates back into his or her community in the evenings. PHP and IOP can be used as a step-up from traditional outpatient services or as a step-down from our intensive inpatient crisis center. Depending upon the person, the typical stay in our partial hospitalization or intensive outpatient programs will last between two and four weeks. Those participating in our outpatient services will receive group therapy, individual therapy, and family therapy, along with medication management services when needed.
Greenleaf’s adult-focused program is designed for clients aged 18 and older who are struggling with mental health and/or chemical dependency issues. Care is provided in a group-oriented setting, with each client attending two to five groups each week for two to four hours each day. Topics that may be discussed in our adult-focused outpatient program can include development of healthy coping mechanisms, assertiveness training, challenging negative thought processes, and support for independent living. Clients in our adult program also meet with their therapists individually once per week to address treatment plans and goals.
Greenleaf’s teen-focused intensive outpatient group is designed for clients aged 12 through 17 who are struggling with substance abuse and/or mental health concerns. Care is provided through a group-oriented setting in which clients attend group therapy three to five days each week for three hours a day after school. The focus in our teen group is structured and teaches the importance of taking accountability for one’s own thoughts, behaviors, and feelings. Additionally, our teen clients will have family therapy sessions to address issues within the family dynamic and provide family education as needed.
